Happy July 4th!

home_page_bg2.jpg

On this wonderful holiday we celebrate the birth of our nation in 1776 and remember with abiding gratitude all those men and women who have worn the uniform of the Armed Forces of the United States over the course of our history.  And for those of us who have relatives who served in the Mosquito Fleet of the US Navy during WWII, there is an added note of thanks and respect for their bold courage and heroism during some of the darkest days of that vast conflict.

In this classic photo, a surging PT boat accelerates as it seems to fly over the water.  I can still hear the excitement in my father’s voice as he would describe his experiences on a PT moving ahead at full throttle.  “We were really moving,” he would say, “we were really moving, like a bat out of hell.”

Have an enjoyable and safe 4th of July and thanks for your continued support.
