Kelso and Red in the Med ’44

Red and Kelso 1944

Somewhere in the Mediterranean 1944

Among the most intriguing of the photos in the family collection is this shot of Red with a fellow sailor identified only as Kelso.  From the pose and the facial expressions, there certainly seemed to be a bond of friendship between them.  Where in the Mediterranean the picture was snapped remains a mystery.  As I’ve searched my memory for specific names from my father’s WWII stories, I can’t lay hold of any Kelso connections.

Perhaps through the miracle of the Internet, some one will see in the face of this young sailor a flash of recognition.  Here’s hoping!
